SurveyUSA has done polling nationwide to see what the electoral college contest for president would look like in Obama v. McCain and Clinton v. McCain matchups. No surprise that both show Montana supporting John McCain. Nationally, both matchups show both Obama or Clinton edging out McCain in close contests.
Still, the results of the survey show some interesting results. The last two contests have produced almost identical maps. The two SurveyUSA maps show some interesting states in play, such as Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, and more. Of course, it depends on the Democratic nominee when it comes to what states may be in play. Arkansas would likely support Clinton, but I doubt Obama would carry it. Similarly, Obama may have an easier time carrying some states in the Northwest, like Washington and Oregon.
